I recently attended the opening night party for L’Epicure, a new restaurant led by Executive Chef Géraldine Géroué at Le Mirabeau Hotel & Spa in Zermatt, Switzerland. Notably, Gault & Millau included Chef Géroué in its list of some of the top female chefs in the country for 2021. She now joins the Le Mirabeau, a family hotel in its third generation, led by Francis and Marie Reichenbach-Julen.

L’Epicure Restaurant at Le Mirabeau Hotel
For the opening party at the L’Epicure, Chef Géraldine Géroué presented a number of dishes reflecting French, Italian and Swiss alpine influences. These included Oona caviar from Frutigen topping a spoonful of creamy yogurt, a Pink Lady apple macaron with foie gras, a selection of dried meat specialties from the Swiss canton of Valais and much more. Overall, one of my favorite dishes of the evening was the risotto with black truffles from Alba.
It should be mentioned that the guests at the party included acclaimed chef Anton Mossiman who cooked for the British Royal Family for decades, earning the Officer of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth II.
With this inaugural event on December 17, 2022, L’Epicure is now officially open to the public in the evenings for dinner. To prepare for the opening, the hotel has undergone a series of renovations.
At L’Epicure, Chef Géraldine Géroué will be presenting her tasting menu that highlights some of her specialties, such as foie gras and porterhouse steak.

Marie’s Deli at Le Mirabeau Hotel & Spa
Throughout the day, Le Mirabeau Hotel & Spa also operates Marie’s Deli. This cozy delicatessen serves drinks, such as hot chocolate or a glass of wine, as well as fresh pastries, soup and other small bites. Dishes are available to enjoy on site or to go. In the winter, if you need a quick place to grab a cup of coffee or more, Marie’s Deli is a comfortable retreat—or a quick pitstop for some high-end take-away.

Overnight Accommodations
Altogether, this four-star superior hotel has 61 guest rooms. Nineteen of these rooms are found in the Alpine Residence building behind the hotel’s main building. Breakfast at the hotel is included with your room rates. Situated minutes from the train station, the hotel is easily accessible on foot.
In addition, Le Mirabeau Hotel & Spa also manages the serviced apartments at Chalet Antoine, located directly across the street.

Chalet Antoine is across the street from the main hotel; it has the green shutters.

Wow, looks wonderful, especially the deli.
The deli was very cozy. A convenient walk from the main train station.
