On October 20th at the EHL Hospitality Business School in Lausanne, the Michelin Guide announced its 2025 stars for restaurants in Switzerland. The guide also presented its Young Chef, Sommelier and Service awards. In all, a total of 144 Swiss restaurants have earned Michelin stars.
Swiss Restaurants with Three Michelin Stars
For 2025, the Michelin Guide did not announce any new 3-Michelin star restaurants for Switzerland. However, just like last year’s ceremony, it confirmed that all four of Switzerland’s restaurants with three stars had maintained this status. All the chefs that lead the kitchens at these restaurants were on hand to receive their new jackets on the stage.
- Memories – Bad Ragaz (SG)
- Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl – Basel (BS)
- Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville – Crissier (VD)
- Schloss Schauenstein – Fürstenau (GR)
New 2-Michelin Star Restaurants
In all, Switzerland now has 27 restaurants with two Michelin stars. This includes the three restaurants newly selected for this distinction in 2025, as shown below:
- IGNIV by Andreas Caminada – Andermatt (UR): After opening in December 2024, this restaurant entered the guide for the first time this year with two stars.
- Ecco – Ascona (TI): This restaurant is led by Swiss chef Reto Brändli, who had previously been awarded two Michelin stars at the Esszimmer restaurant in Hotel Adlon in Berlin.
- Gilles Varone – Savièse (VS): Varone was overcome with emotion when they announced two stars for his restaurant, after earning the Young Chef Award in 2024 and his first Michelin star only two years ago in 2023.
New 1-Michelin Star Restaurants
The Michelin Guide named 18 new one-star restaurants. Including the newly-starred restaurants below, Switzerland has a total of 113 restaurants with one Michelin star.

New Bib Gourmand Restaurants
The Bib Gourmand designation highlights restaurants with excellent cuisine at a more moderate price. With five new restaurants this year, there are now 104 total restaurants that have earned this distinction.

The Michelin Guide also recognizes restaurants for their sustainable practices with a special Green Star designation. In 2025, the guide selected nine new restaurants for this distinction, bringing the total to 40 restaurants in Switzerland.

Michelin Guide Awards for 2025
During the presentation of stars, the Michelin Guide also handed out awards in the following categories for professionals working at the top of their fields.

- Young Chef Award – Benjamin Geisser, Soleil d’Or by David Geisser – Saint Gallen (SG)
- Sommelier Award – Charline Pichon, Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville – Crissier (VD)
